What I do at Knowles Corporation
Hi, I am Deborah Porter, the HR Manager at Knowles our Minden NV facility.
KCM is recognized to be a leader in the industry with state of the art, leading edge technologies, and can process our custom products from start to finish with all in-house capabilities. We have received the 3 Star Supplier Excellence Award winner by Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems for multiple consecutive years and are certified critical suppliers to several military and aerospace customers including BAE, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, and GE

Our HR team is focused on the continued improvement of company culture, to attract and hire the highest quality candidates while also promoting growth within the organization. My job is to:
- Ensure a positive onboarding experience that sets our employees up for success.
- Work with our leadership team to provide continual open communication to our team.
- Work with our department managers to provide the necessary training for employee growth.
- Provide an environment where employees feel open to share their ideas as well as their concerns for the betterment of our facility and Knowles as a whole.
Who am I?
As a HR leader, I care about the wellbeing of our employees from a clean/safe work environment, to our health and wellness programs, and on-the-job training to ensure the continual growth of our employees.
I truly enjoy helping people grow and succeed and love working for a company that truly values and recognizes their number one resource, their employees.
While my career did not start out in HR I have been excited to learn this new and ever changing field for the past 4 years. I started with Knowles (formerly DITF) in February of 2010, in my time with the company I have been lucky enough to experience many departments within our business working in purchasing, material management, shipping & receiving, engineering support, document control systems, internal auditing, customer service, inside sales, regulatory compliance and now human resources.
Advice for prospective candidates
The perfect candidate for our team would be someone who is positive, open to feedback, seeks continuous improvement and is an exceptional team player.
As a manager, I care about (in no particular order):
