What I do at Knowles Corporation

Hi, I'm Christopher Cota, the Backend Operations Manager at Knowles.

Our operations team is focused on establishing and maintaining a culture focused on safety, quality, and standard of on-time delivery to our customers, my job is to:

Educated my supervisory team on best practices surrounding safety and providing the right tools to establish and develop a culture around safety first.
When focused on quality less is more. As a leader my focus for my team is to focus on doing the job correct the first time and encouraging our associates to speak up when seeing non-conformance to quality standards. By establishing this we allow for reduction in rework and show our customers the pride we take in our product.
Lastly establishment of focus on on time delivery to our customer no matter how big or small.

Who am I?

As an Operations leader, I care about developing my peers and team, setting high standards to help my team grow, and helping my team achieve the goals they set out for themselves. My history as an educator has taught me the importance of development and continuous learning and improvement.

Most of my Operations experience is in lean six sigma, operational excellence, and operational execution but I've also spent time in an educator, and industrial engineer. I'm excited to grow the Operations Team’s function at Knowles and can't wait to see what we can achieve together.

Advice for prospective candidates

I look to hire people who are motivated, flexible to change but also have ability to disagree and commit, and learn and be curious.

As a manager I care about (in no particular order):

· Clear standards

· Able to take constructive feedback to allow for growth

· Most importantly know how to have fun!!
